START OF A NEW CHAPTER | MH MONDAY

Monday, 9 October 2017

Lately, I’ve been having a think about the type of content I want to create and I’ve decided to start kind of a blog series focusing on mental health because this is something I really am passionate about. Personally, I suffer from Anxiety and Depression and I have had and still struggle with a lot of body confidence issues mainly revolving around weight and food.

Not only will I be including content about my own struggles, advice and help, but I’ll also invite others to share their stories and advice wherever possible. Please keep in mind that I do only have personal knowledge of these issues so I can only be responsible for explaining how I myself feel and I cannot talk for others as these MH issues affect everyone differently.

I hope you’ll stick around to find out more and maybe let me know what you’d like me to cover...

September Boohoo Favorites

Sunday, 10 September 2017

I've been online window shopping a lot lately, due to boredom, procrastination and the fact that I can't stop spending money, so I thought I'd share some of the pieces I'm in love with from Boohoo right now.

Petite Alexis all over embroidery long sleeve dress

So I'm not necessarily petite but I couldn't find this dress in non-petite section, in all honesty, I'd probably buy this whether it was petite or not. I just love the embroidery all over the dress and how they've styled it (of course it always looks better on the model)

Buy here - £25 )

Penny pocket front cord pinafore dresses

I won't lie, I have quite a few pinafore dresses/dungarees but these are beautiful and obviously, I couldn't choose my favorite between both colors. I'm swaying more towards the pink one since it's more my current style.

Buy here - £20 each )

Iliana ruffle embroidered denim jacket

Ok, so can we take a moment to look at this, just look at it, I'm in love. I love the how well the colors go together and obviously, I love the embroidered flowers, they're so delicate and pretty. The only issue I have with this jacket is that I'm not certain the sleeves roll down although that doesn't put me off too much.

Buy here - £28 )

Sasha oversized v-neck jumper

This one is definitely a wardrobe staple, you could style this jumper so many ways, you could wear it slouched over the shoulder with a pretty bralette underneath. You could also really dress this one down maybe with a pair of jeans or leggings.

Buy here - £15 )

Melanie faux fur lined bonded aviator jacket

I've wanted a jacket like this for years, with the fur lining it looks super cozy which would be great for the majority of the year in England (where it's always freezing). I feel like this coat, in particular, would go with so many outfits and would be the one you'd always reach for.

Buy here - £50 )

Lilly slinky crop and split maxi skirt co-ord set

For me, this is a bit of an out there choice, I hate showing my stomach and the skirt seems a little risky but again, I love the way it looks on the model. I definitely could not pull this off but I had to include it because I love it. Something I love about co-ord's is that you're essentially paying one price for 2 separate items and you can mix them up with any outfit you want.

Buy here - £22 )

Amanda half rib sleeve maxi cardigan

My thought behind this one was that it'd be good for when you're in a situation where it's cold outside but you're going somewhere it'll be warm, this is perfect for that. The color is pretty, it's a lovely length to double up as a jacket and it would make any outfit look a little more elegant.

Buy here - £20 )

Luna tie waist woven satin slimline trousers

I've been looking for a pair of smart trousers as I don't own any and I think these are perfect, the color is nice and subtle and they look so flattering. I also like the belted detail and height as it cinches the waist in at the smallest part.

Buy here - £20 )

Thank you for reading, let me know in the comments what lovelies you're eyeing up this month.

One of Us Is Lying - Book review

Saturday, 26 August 2017

As I've just finished the book and taken a few days to collect my thoughts and pull myself out of the world of the characters I thought I'd share my thoughts with you guys. First of all, let me just say THIS BOOK, I loved this book and I wish it could've gone on longer, I need more of these characters.

Beginning
I started off reading the book feeling a lot of similarities to The Breakfast Club (a film which I love) with the different stereotypes being brought together in detention, although as the story went on it was more murder/mystery.

Characters
I loved the way the author developed the characters and a few were completely different people compared to the start of the book. Addy and Bronwyn were my favorites because they became so carefree and strong slowly throughout their ordeal. The book is told from the point of view of each student involved in the story; I really like this style as it gives the reader a chance to get to know each of the characters.

Storyline
In terms of storyline, I thought the whole thing was very smartly written to include the plot twists and surprises throughout and I'm not talking just one big plot twist, these things are dotted throughout the novel, some much more shocking than others. This book will make you feel so many different emotions from happiness to anger to sadness.

Ending
The ending was definitely not what I expected in the slightest and came as a huge shock to me, I had my guesses throughout the book but I couldn't manage to pinpoint any one of the gang I'd just suspected different characters at certain points.

Overall view
I will definitely be recommending this book to anyone and everyone who'll listen.

Let me know what you think,
